Abi Van Walsum - Director

A dual passion for story writing and photography led Abi van Walsum to her first foray into filmmaking when she was 18. She made a two minute Super 8mm short, “The Fortune Teller”.

In 2000 Abi graduated from Oxford University with a BA in English and Russian Literature. She spent a year of the course studying Film Direction at the Russian State Institute of Cinema in Moscow.

Over the last five years Abi has written and directed three short films, “Sea Changes”, “Photographing Me” and “Last Night”.

Abi is now studying for a Masters in Feature Film Screenwriting at the Royal Holloway University where she was awarded the David Lean Scholarship. She is writing a feature entitled “London Story” which she hopes to direct.
